Right from check in to check out this hotel was a nightmare.
1. Check in started with an argument with the reception staff who was adamant on charging the entire local fee of MYR 13 at check in even though MYR 10 out of this fee had already been paid at the time of booking and only MYR 3 were to be paid.
2. Room allotted to us was so isolated it seemed like in another world.
3. Room had not been opened in a long time and was in dire need of maintenance.
4. Furniture was old, dusty and full of scratches and wear.
5. Ironing board was so stained that you just couldn't iron white or light colored clothes on it.
6. Tea creamer was solidified, stinking and expired.
7. There was no socket for mobile charging by bed side which made it very inconvenient as after a day of travel evening is the time to check out missed notifications and make arrangements for travel ahead.
8. Hotel provided only 500 ml of water per person per day and refused to provide free drinking water thereafter.
9. Upon contacting hotel staff for commuting options from Penang to KL, we were scared to death by the hotel staff to check out at 9 am for our flight at 10 pm from KLIA. We left at around 11 am and comfortably reached KLIA well in time. Misinformation by hotel staff kept us worried and stressed throughout the day.
